The sections called Registration Details and Details for Adviser Directory are compulsory and you must complete all the boxes.

Areas of Expertise Work and Advice - Please complete this section in order to define and explain the services, outputs or advice you offer or provide. You should choose only TWO categories, see below.

There are 7 advice and information categories with sub categories listed within these. Please select those boxes that relate to your services, work or experience. Space is left as "other" for you to enter a sub categories not listed or adequately differentiated for your purposes.

It is important that the Rural Advice and Information Network (RAIN) allows users to find advisers and service providers who are well versed in their categories. For this reason we ask that you complete a maximum of two categories only and then indicate which you consider your primary and which is your secondary area of expertise or work. You may choose any number of sub categories within your two categories.

The primary category should be that category in which you spend the most time, have the most knowledge/specialisation or earn the most fees if you are a professional adviser. Many advisers may feel it appropriate to reply under one category only. It is important that advisers abide by the Key Delivery Principles, which include referring their clients to other specialists for those categories for which they do not have a RAIN entry.

TEXT BOXES
Description
Please then use the Description text box to give notes to describe your work or service. The description box must include words that people commonly use for what you do or offer; you must also include the phrases selected for your sub-categories as well as others that may be appropriate to your expertise or job role. If your work is bounded by a natural boundary or sub regional landscape feature, give mention of that area or feature e.g. of the hill range, valley, forest, national park, lake, dale, canal, village, river or water catchment area etc.

Natural Boundary & Landscape Projects and Initiatives - text box (OPTIONAL)
Please mention any collaboration, community, rural business venture or environmental project/land management initiative you are aware of or have been involved with that relates to or is associated with a natural boundary or sub regional landscape feature. Give mention of that area or feature e.g. of the hill range, valley, forest, national park, lake, dale, canal, village, river or water catchment area etc. and give a descriptive name of that collaboration, venture or project.
